in New Orleans

Interior designer Cassy Young and her assistant Nikki were on stage several times at the Exceeding the Vision: 2023 Design Conference held this year in New Orleans.

Their awards include 1st Place for Cassy’s dark, moody bar , and 1st Place for her wine lounge in the annual Dream Room Competition judged by editors from shelter magazines such as House Beautiful, Veranda and Arabella.

Cassy’s design talent and experience has been highlighted over the years with many Dream Room wins including being awarded Designer of the Year in 2021.

Cassy Young’s stunning basement makeover was featured this month in Veranda magazine under the title 7 Tips for Decorating Rooms with Dark Walls.

For a recent project, Athens, Georgia-based interior designer Cassy Young, who’s part of Decorating Den Interiors, a collective of individually owned and operated design firms around the U.S., was tasked with turning a walkout basement into an elegant lounge and wine room.

“Because it’s a walkout, there is a bit of natural light, but we wanted it moody and dark,” says Young, Decorating Den’s 2021 Designer of the Year. “You don’t want too much light to hit the bottles of wine. Black paint was perfect—it absorbs light instead of reflecting it.” Happily, Young has decorated plenty of approachable dark-walled rooms over her career. Read more of her tried-and-true advice .

Cassy’s award-winning bathroom renovation and design was featured this month in Veranda.com showcasing her classic style. 2021 Designer of the Year

Cassy Young was honored last night with multiple design awards at the Decorating Den Interiors 37th Annual Dream Room Awards event held by video conference again, replacing the  the normal annual conference.

Multiple awards for her dining room, living room and kitchen culminated in Cassy being awarded the highest award presented, Designer of the Year.

Cassy Young honored with 2020 Design Award

Cassy Young, owner of Young Design Group was once again awarded this year for her amazing work on this Georgia kitchen. Cassy worked with the homeowners on all aspects of the kitchen to finalize selections for cabinet style/finishes, hardware, counter top, floor tile, back splash tile, and plumbing fixtures. Walls, doors and windows were moved and the incredible new ceiling adds interest and great presence.

Awards for Local Designer

They weren’t together, they came together on Zoom instead. Interior designers from America and Canada joined together for the ultimate award session at the 51st Annual Decorating Den Interiors Conference. It was different and lots of fun.

Cassy Young has been awarded three design awards at the annual Dream Room competition. This prestigious competition is judged by the editors of America’s top shelter magazines such as Traditional Home, Elle Decor, Verandah and several others.

2019 Annual Conference

Last night was the Decorating Den Interiors franchise annual conference where owners are acknowledged for their beautiful design work and sales. Owner and interior designer Cassy Young was honored with the Eagle Award, seen here with Jennifer Manley, VP of Retail Sales, and David Hasely, Senior VP of Merchandising and Marketing.
